About our company

We are Orry and Anaïs, the founders of BoardGamesSwap, or BGS. We’re a happily married couple with a love for board games and all the fun stories and atmosphere they bring. From classics like Ticket to Ride to modern gems like Everdell, from the small Sea Salt & Paper to the big Wonderlands War, we love playing them all. The joy of our hobby is discovering new games time and again!

Like everyone, however, we have limited space to store our ever-growing collection, so we (sometimes reluctantly) say goodbye to games now and then to make room for new ones. We wanted to give our games, full of wonderful memories, a good new home but couldn't find a reliable, user-friendly way to do so. Searching for specific second-hand games was also not easy, though it’s a way to lower hobby costs and is a more sustainable approach to gaming. Sometimes, it’s even the only way to find an out-of-print game. And so, our passion project, BoardGamesSwap, gradually took shape to create what we felt was missing in the hobby.

With BoardGamesSwap, we aim to provide a platform where both avid and occasional board game lovers, young and old, can come to 'swap' board games. It’s a shame if a game is no longer played, and even more so to throw it away, so we promote sustainability in the hobby by offering an easy way to sell games and earn a little on the side with integrated features like online payment options and courier services—something that’s currently hard to find for second-hand games. Unique to our platform is also the ability to set an alert for when someone lists that one game you've been searching for, so you don’t miss out on the chance!

Additionally, we offer a range of fun extras, like earning points and fun giveaways (find us on social media too)! We’ve built the website we always wished for, and we hope the rest of the community feels the same way, so BGS becomes the first site people check when they want to buy a new game or sell one. Our motto "Trade, Play, repeat" reflects the great advantage of our site, you can buy games cheap to test and then win back part of the cost by reselling which makes this sometimes expensive hobby more accessible and allows you to discover more games. Our platform aims to bring people from the entire community together to 'swap' board games, because the more people use one platform, the larger the selection becomes.
